Tis the season, for sure. Each year around this time, my eyes become so itchy and I become so grumpy….
What can we do, naturally, to prevent seasonal allergy symptoms?
One natural supplement that has come to light this year apparently has been shown in clinical trials to duplicate the effects of pharmaceutical antihistamines, without the side effects. It’s called butterbur. Six tablets a day work effectively to reduce allergy symptoms — worth a try. You would get it at a health food or vitamin store.
One thing I’ve discovered about my itchy eyes is that the main culprit is in my nose — my tear ducts react by swelling and itching! I have found that taking 3-4 tablets a day of a combination of Quercetin and Bromelain — also available at a health food store — helps to reduce my allergic responses. Homeopathic eye drops, such as “Similasan ‘s “Allergy Eye” drops can also be very helpful. Another homeopathic remedy that is helpful is called “Histaminum.” Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll give you information on how and where to find this remedy. Taking 1000 to 2000 milligrams a day of Vitamin C over what you usually take can also be very helpful in taming seasonal allergies.
I wish you calm and peaceful eyes and a dry, unclogged nose this allergy season!
