My goal as a healer is to help people with serious or difficult illnesses to feel better and sustain health through the power of homeopathy. I believe people should be empowered advocates for their own healing. Therefore, I educate my clients on what to expect and how to understand the healing process. Helping a good friend with terminal cancer led me to retire from my previous career as college professor, psychologist, and cultural ethnographer, and become a classical homeopath. This required going back to school to learn a new profession. Because of what I learned from my friend about the meaning of living, I have focused my practice on helping people with difficult chronic illnesses, and people with a history of Near-Death or Transcendental Experiences. Classical homeopathy is often incredibly powerful to help people heal deeply, even where other approaches have been unsatisfactory. After graduating from the homeopathic program of Caduceus Institute, I studied with Dr. A. U. Ramakrishnan, taking his two year-long post-graduate course on using homeopathy to address a wide range of serious diseases. Through working with patients, I’ve learned his methods in depth. I have also attended clinics and seminars and been supervised by other well known homeopaths as I've prepared for certification. I've then built on these experiences to arrive at my own strategies for helping patients heal when other forms of treatment have failed. I share my insights frequently with the homeopathic profession in online forums and through professional journal articles and conference presentations. Through these professional contacts, my clients benefit from up to date homeopathic knowledge from world-famous expert consultants for difficult situations. I also frequently serve as a consultant to other homeopaths. My practice is international in scope. I work with patients in many places. I have completed the challenging Certification in Classical Homeopathy and am registered with the North American Society of Homeopaths. These are internationally recognized credentials. They mean the excellence of my knowledge has been verified by the professional homeopathic examiners for North America. Many of my patients have come specifically for help with metastatic or late stage cancers. Using Dr. Ramakrishnan's "Plussing Method" in addition to classical homeopathic approaches, we have frequently been able to help put these cancers "on hold" while people are able to lead a comfortable, vibrant life. This is a beautiful, life-affirming process, and I feel privileged to play a role in it. I also collaborate closely with my partner, Ellen Scheiner, M.D. She is a board certified internist and member of the prestigious American College of Physicians. With outstanding added expertise in psychotherapy, spiritual counseling, and the evolution of illness, she has forty five years of experience in helping people deal successfully with extreme, often life-threatening challenges. Our shared focus is mentoring and supporting people through serious crises. Both of us are experienced pastoral counselors and non-denominational ministers. We share an extensive knowledge of psychology and nutrition. We also both have a deep understanding of cross-cultural and bilingual issues and are ourselves bilingual in French and English, having completed our respective earlier professional studies in Europe. We integrate all of our areas of expertise in designing for each client a uniquely effective strategy for achieving well-being through natural healing. |
